Education
I am a proud graduate of Kansas public schools from kindergarten through law school (Blue Valley and KU). Every Kansan deserves the opportunity to receive the same incredible education I did, and we all stand to benefit in the form of more educated citizens and workers. I will advocate and vote to meet our state constitutional obligations for K-12 funding, including fully funding special education, and increase support for our post-secondary institutions.
Healthcare
Unaffordable healthcare harms individuals, businesses, and our society as whole. I support policies which expand access to quality, affordable healthcare and incentivize Kansans to get preventative and early-intervention care, which improves outcomes and reduces costs. I further support policies to invest in our healthcare workforce to protect Kansans' physical access to expert care.
Transparency
Decisions made for public benefit must be made in full public view. In the case of far too many data center developments, for example, the use of non-disclosure agreements, third-party agents, and obfuscation breeds mistrust and has to stop. As your state representative, I will always explain my thinking, listen to your opinions, and strive to make state government more accessible to all Kansans.
Economic Development and Investment in Kansans
I support economic development policies with targeted incentives tied to real job commitments and community investment. I further believe government has a role to incentivize entrepreneurship and business growth by investing in a well-educated and healthy workforce and quality infrastructure. Business is attracted to productive workers. This includes policies which support affordable childcare, housing, and healthcare (i.e., Medicaid expansion), paid sick and maternity leave, and high quality transit, utility, and digital networks.
